hopefully tomorrow will bring a nice long Post of Gratefulness about our family birthday celebration on friday, but today i just want to focus on the yarnies i got from my seester, and my legwarmer swatch.

here is the yarn i got in sarah's berfday package (pics of the other fabulous goodies will be forthcoming, i promise):

i love these! the colors are fun and they're quite loverly to touch, now i just have to figure out what to do with them! i'm sure there are many fabulous patterns out there for these kinds of fun yarns, and i'm going to have a blast hunting them down! (i would also love suggestions!) who knows, i may even get brave and try to design something cool!

she also sent this stuff:

the color is fabulous and it feels soooo soft! i'm thinking i may look for a fun armwarmer pattern? i'll take suggestions on what to do with this stuff, too.

and lastly, i'm working on designing some legwarmers (with a fun twist that i will keep to myself since i plan to enter these in a contest) and here is my pattern test swatch:

i feel pretty pleased with this cable pattern, so i think i'm just about to unravel it and start the legwarmers fo reals. wish me a lack of needing to frog!

Wow, you like made a real cable pattern!!!! That is so cool. I'm very very impressed. I've had friends that knit, but never seen any of them make a cable knit!!!

wow, that was like the fastest comment ever! and thanks, i'm really excited about it, but i can't take credit for being terribly impressive, cables aren't actually that hard, and i'm doing some very simple cabling!

Yay fun! The legwarmer swatch looks great. The blue is the laceweight cashmere that I used for Goddess. . .so that's why it's soft! You can double or triple it and it works up great! Good luck! : )
