remember #4 from this post?
probably not unless you're my mother, who already knows what it
is. what it was (and is) is that my jonjon was offered and has
now started a new job! it's only a block from our apartment and
the new office environment is lacking the non-stop drama of the lawfirm
(it's not that it's that kind of firm, it just has that kind of staff),
so he's much less stressed. i'm super proud of him, because as
soon as they got their hands on his resume, they were scrambling to
hire him, and after 3 weeks of work, they are still almost daily
finding that he's even more valuable than they thought he was.
also, as of
today, i am a full-time stay-at-home mom! i'm really excited to have the extra time to spend
with noah, and hopefully to start doing more with my knitting and
sewing. in that vein, when i got home from my last day at work
yesterday, i had a happy "retirement" gift from my wonderful hubby!
the craft inc. book is
awesome, but a little scary, because starting a business isn't
something that i feel really qualified for, but i would
love to
get to make some extra cash doing things i love, like knitting,
crocheting, and sewing. i've already made a pretty good start and
it's really good. every so often it has interviews with succesful
crafty business owners like my favorite, lotta jansdotter! i'm
really excited to read it and start trying to make my hobbies
profitable. the softies book is absolutely freakin'
adorable! it has sooooo many fun patterns, i can hardly wait to
get going on some stuff from it, starting with the tree on the
front! the skirt book has lots of fun patterns in it, but more
importantly, it walks you through how to make your own skirt patterns
that fit you just the way you want them to. i love skirts!
that was one of the first thoughts i had when
jonjon bought me the machine,
i can make myself fun skirts! i can't wait to get started on
something, and to make it even more exciting, that paper poking up from
behind the softies book? that would be a gift certificate to
purl
so i can get some fun fabric to make myself a skirt, and maybe a new
bag. i guess i'll have plenty to do my first week home= )
oh, and as long as i'm sharing cool new crafty books to keep me busy,
in the birthday package my
seester
sent me (which i am going to blog about in my celebratory week of
blogging next week that i don't think i've mentioned yet) was this
super nifty book;
i'm thinking jonjon and noah need to hide all thier socks....= )
i plan to try to blog daily next week to celebrate my at-home-ness, so
try to stop by and comment so i feel encouraged to keep it up!
and also, if you haven't, you should visit
jonjon's vox and our
family blog and check out all the mobile blogging he's been doing with his new iphone!

Congratulations on the new job and being able to stay at home full time. I hope you love it as much as I have.
Actually, I am looking forward to having our B&B one day and being able to do all the soft furnishings for the rooms.
If you do make the tree - I might have to buy one off you - it's sooo cute! And who thought a tree would make a cuddly toy!? Genius!
I am excited to see pics of your creations! I love doing that kind of stuff too but I am rarely inspired enough to lug out all the "ingredients" one needs to create.
